It’s been awhile since we first spoke,

So, what’s new?

The way things were is how they are
What’s worse for you
Is only bad, so far.

You can see what we should have done
My bet it’s the climate
Sorry about that one.

You see, the news tells us it’s a mess.
So, we just hunker down
And get by, I guess.

Every hour seems so long
Then the years add up
Even though they’re gone.

And that’s the thing I’ve got to say
It’s me there tomorrow,
Once it becomes today.

The future isn’t what’s ahead
It’s where we’re living
What we’re doing instead.

There’s no difference to explain
You aren’t someone else
We’re one in the same.

My message to myself is this vow:
Be in the moment
Live right now.
